October 14 - New Moon & Solar Eclipse

**YES, I am extremely behind in the daily Simple & Sassy Spells (was wayyyy under the weather, apologies) but for TODAY, October 14, our post is about today’s NEW MOON in Libra and the Solar Eclipse.**

Our Saturday is of course ruled by its namesake Saturn, and brings us energies, opportunities, and experiences regarding destiny, legacy, ancestors, time, karma, banishing, releasing, boundaries, commitments, and responsibilities.
The Moon remains in the Air sign of Libra all day keeping the focus on relationships, balance, equality, fairness…AND the Moon turns NEW at 10:55am PT/1:55pm ET today adding the essence of new beginnings, a new phase, a fresh start…in these Libra related areas and energies.

At the same time that the Moon is New, there will be a full ‘Ring of Fire’ Solar Eclipse.

The moon will slip in front of the sun, leaving a fiery orange rim in the sky that will be visible for just a few minutes. It is a time to look inward, release the clutter (old baggage, ideas, etc that no longer serve who we have grown into being now and forward). This has been described as a biannual cleanse of our inner self.

*Side note – This being the first in a series Libra eclipses, what happens now at this eclipse time is part of a larger arc of our story and experience that will span the coming year and a half.*
