For many, Halloween is when they take their first official steps on the path of magic and being a witch.

It can take time to get comfortable with your newfound title…and even more often it is just not something you are ready to share with others, or it may not even be safe for you too.

Whether you are still ‘in the broom closet’ and your home cannot reflect your new practice, or if you are either a guest in someone’s home over the holiday where Halloween is only about costumes and candy or having a non-witchy group over for festivities in your own space – you can still have your magic… even your ritual… very present and sacred.

Candles….even tealights … can be scattered (safely) around a home, as well as through most kind of gatherings and décor year round.

Select your candles – colors, scents – with your purposes in mind. Cedar, cinnamon, apple are all protective, Vanilla creates comfort and harmony, pine…and cinnamon again as well… invite in money.

Even if you select white unscented candles, you can anoint them discreetly with a dab of a magical or appropriate essential oil for your purpose and they will not even project any scent when burning.

Whichever candles you magically weave through your space, be sure to take a few moments alone with them, hold each one, focus on your intent that you want it to help facilitate for you, and again bear that thought, or if you have privacy at the time of lighting, say aloud, your intention.

Your magic will be all around you, lighting up your world… and no one else will be the wiser!
